An original India Mutiny Medal 1857 - 1858. Issued to British and India native forces that crushed the rebellion known as the Mutiny. 36 mm, silver construction. Claw swivel mount. Rim punched: 25 T. WARD. 34TH FOOT. (34th Cumberland Regiment of Foot). Without clasp. Replacement ribbon. T. Ward (Teddy) appears on the medal roll with the 34th Foot. Entitled to Lucknow clasp. Service number 4016. Enlisted 25 February 1854 aged 18, near Claremorris, Mayo. Transferred to 52nd Foot, 01 November 1863. 3378
